    This position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), West Coast Region (WCR), Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD) with one vacancy in Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; or Lacey, WA. This position may also be filled in a location that is negotiable after selection within the states of OR, CA, WA, or ID.

    As an Interdisciplinary Fishery Management Specialist OR Industry Economist, you will perform the following
    • Coordinate with subject matter experts in the development and interpretation of policies and programs and report findings relative to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, the Pacific Whiting Act, and other applicable laws to evaluate the biological, economic, and social impacts of fishery management policies.
    • Apply fisheries management regulatory practices to evaluate, present, and/or implement significant fishery policy issues, new regulations, policies, and proposed fishery rules, regulations, and data.
    • Lead collaborative participation on teams in the implementation of sustainable management of U.S. federal marine fisheries under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act and the Pacific Whiting Act.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - Up to 25% domestic travel may be required.
