The positions of the Supervisory Police Officer (Lieutenant) are located with the BIA, Office of Justice Services (OJS), District 8: Burns Paiute Agency in Burns, OR, and Chemawa Indian School in Salem, OR. Serving under the Assistant Special Agent in Charge, the person selected for this position will perform first level supervisory personnel responsibilities over the agency's uniform police force.

This is a supervisory position. Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a probation period before their appointment becomes final. If the employee does not satisfactorily complete the probation, he/she has a right to be returned to a non-supervisory or non-managerial position of no lower grade and pay than the previous non-supervisory position held.
