    Summary

    This position is located in the Office of Information and Technology (OI&T),Infrastructure Operations, Information and Technology Operations and Services (ITOPS),COTS Interface Division. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with duties associated with one or more IT specialty areas in support of the Division and will be responsible for providing technical assistance relatively to health, software and business application support as well as business focused services.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary, but may involve intermediate periods of walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, moving (up to 50 pounds} computer components and supplies, reaching, pulling, and working at a keyboard and monitor.

    This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-12. At the GS-11 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-12. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.


    Major Duties:
    • Creates and maintains documentation on IT systems and infrastructures to include configuration standards, as-built diagrams, and historical and trending information which varies depending on project/application.
    • Provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex information technology issues; interpret information technology policies, standards and guidelines.
    • Provides customer service support to stakeholders on an as needed basis relevant to application support activities.
    • Makes recommendations for troubleshooting and maintenance of supported applications as well as specifications on vendor products or necessary interfaces.
    • Performs application troubleshooting and maintenance in accordance with approved/established application support policies and change control policies in the organization.
