The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Office of General Counsel (OGC) is pleased to invite talented and enthusiastic attorneys to apply for a temporary detailee position. OMB is a fast-paced and dynamic environment. OMB OGC provides legal advice and assistance on a full range of government-wide and agency-specific matters, as well as consultation with the Department of Justice's litigating divisions and the Office of Legal Counsel. OMB OGC's practice spans the breadth of Federal practice, including novel and complex legal issues related to important policy development embracing legislation, budget and appropriations, procurement, grants, financial management, cybersecurity, national security, trade, information technology, privacy, and ethics. The office also assists with in-house legal matters, including personnel, compliance, ethics, and FOIA.
The portfolio primarily involves assisting in the management of OMB's FOIA portfolio, including working with DOJ on litigation matters, as well as processing FOIAs.
The successful candidate should have at least one year of experience in a Federal agency handling FOIA matters, and must be energetic, creative, and enjoy complicated questions as well as be able to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals with little oversight.
