This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
Major duties include developing programs to provide education and workforce development opportunities in advanced manufacturing to students and in-place workers in a range of emerging manufacturing technology areas. Duties include expanding the diversity, equity, and inclusion of the Manufacturing USA Program, including reaching socially disadvantaged communities and people. Incumbent is expected to develop reports and organize briefings for Congress on the scientific, technical, and programmatic achievements of this advanced manufacturing program. Work includes coordination with our interagency partners in the management of all Manufacturing USA institutes, including the NIST-sponsored National Institute for Innovation in Biopharmaceuticals (www.niimbl.org).
