    The primary purpose of this position, Air Traffic Control Specialist (Center), GS-2152-12, is to perform an Enroute Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility. This includes separation of military air traffic from non-participating civilian and other user traffic on the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR) through the use of vertical, longitudinal or lateral separation.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain certification and proficiency in Air Traffic Control duties that ensure the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of military or civilian air traffic to, from, and within the UTTR and FAA airspace into Department of Defense ranges.
    • Work as a team member to assist and coordinate for the radar controller.
    • Train other Air Traffic Control Specialists in the different positional air traffic control duties.
    • Function as Supervisory ATC specialist during the temporary absence of the Watch Supervisor.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - May be required to fly in military or commercial aircraft for temporary duty (TDY) or familiarization purposes.
