    This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1525000 and is part of the AZ 162nd Wing, National Guard.

    APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This position is in the Federal/Excepted Civil Service. The tentatively selected individual will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.

    This position is located at the 162d Wing in Tucson, AZ. It's primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft. Work involves the phase maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and modification of fixed wing aircraft systems, airframes, components and assemblies, where the work requires substantive knowledge of the airframe and aircraft mechanical, pneudraulic, and electrical systems and their interrelationships. Removes, replaces and operational checks aircraft components such as control surfaces, engines, constant speed drive, engine mounted gear boxes, wing fuel tanks, landing gear mechanisms, wheels, brakes and tires. Services oil, fluid, fuel, hydraulic, and oxygen systems. Pre-flight, post-light, special inspections, repairs, servicing, functional checks, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of various block's of F-16 aircraft utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
