As a registered nurse, the Permanent Charge Nurse is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of evidenced based nursing standards of practice. Creates a positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff. Promotes, creates, demonstrates and ensures a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected. As RN-PCN he/she is responsible for planning holistic comprehensive person care focusing on an interdisciplinary approach. He/ She maintain expertise in skilled nursing care, rehabilitation and hospice and palliative care. He/ She is closely involved in planning and design of the environment of care. He/she possess knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards. The RN-PCN initiates improvement in care delivery and identifies and resolves problems impacting client care and unit operations.
