This position is located in the Information Technology Office (IT), Office of the Associate Director for Operations, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) and reports to the Assistant Director for Information Technology. - Provides management, supervision and leadership of the operations of the Informatics Branch staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers including development of service plans and procedures, performance metric management, customer communications, financial management, contract administration, and volunteer /intern coordination.
Oversees technical or procedural issues relating to all Informatics systems, including software testing, development of testing plans, creation and maintenance of documentation, training, training manuals, training plans, systems monitoring and maintenance, user support, software selection and implementation.
- Manages the on-going Informatics Branch systems and projects. Responsibilities include analyzing and defining data requirements and specifications, developing and administering data standards, and creating and/or implementing policies and procedures, including those governing security.
- Provides guidance, advice, and options to senior Museum management.
