    Summary

    These Direct-Hire positions are in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA), Office of Enforcement and Import Operations (OEIO), Division of Food Defense Targeting (DFDT). DFDT Consumer Safety Officer (Reviewer/Investigator) represents the highest demonstrated level of expertise in one or more of DFDT's program areas of concentration including determining compliance with prior notice related FDA laws and regulations and other applicable regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Research, analyze, evaluate, synthesizes information, and assess risks related to prior notice information on imported food/feed to determine if the commodity poses a terrorist threat or significant health risk to the US food/feed supply.
    • Determine the risk and the recommendation to refuse/hold for forensic sampling and examination, or quarantine.
    • Make recommendations for enforcement action relevant to Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
