    This position is located in the Northern Plains Regional HR Office of the Indian Health Service, located in the Great Plains Area Office, and performs a variety of technical and administrative duties associated with recruitments, staffing, reduction-in-force, and other placement activities.

    • Knowledge of federal personnel laws, rules, regulations and experience following an agency merit promotion plan. Provide advice to managers related to recruiting and staffing.
    • Rate and rank applicants based upon OPM and agency qualifications standards.
    • Use an automated hiring system to gather, rate, and notify applicants of initial and final determinations. Work with applicants to resolve questions related to their applications. Notification of selected/non-selected candidates throughout the hiring process.
    • Process personnel actions according to an established system of coding. Specifically, the guide to personnel processing, utilization of various federal regulations, laws, rules, and agency merit promotion plans to ensure appropriate coding is followed.
