    This position is located in USCIS Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, District 44, FDNS San Diego. 

    Every day, our Intelligence Research Specialists represent the organization on committees and working groups; participate in developing and drafting policies, procedures, and guidelines; analyze and evaluate large volumes of intelligence materials.

    • The responsibilities described are for the GS-13 level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
    • Produces immigration intelligence for major functional and geographical areas and for the dissemination of intelligence products.
    • Identifies intelligence information through the analysis of data captured from applications and petitions.
    • Produces intelligence products that address Key Intelligence Questions for the administration of the lawful immigration process.
    • Produces raw intelligence reporting in the form of Intelligence Information Reports (IIR).
    • Analyzes complex data captured from applications, petitions, and information obtained from a variety of sources.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel may be required for this position.

    Promotion Potential

    13 - This is a one-graded interval position with full performance to the GS-13 grade level. Promotion progression is from the GS-12 to GS-13.
