- Formulates research plans, develops methodology, determines data needs, and defining resources needed to carry out complex economic research and analysis programs.
- Uses relevant professional literature and modifies or develops procedures to meet unexpected or altered conditions.
- Formulates specific and definite conclusions that are presented to the agricultural and rural development community in a series of published contributions to knowledge in the area of rural development economics.
- Analyzes the relationship between economic base development and labor market outcomes, including employment growth and factors associated with unemployment and labor force participation.
