    Summary

    This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Service Management Office (SMO). The SMO is a center of excellence focused on driving fully-integrated IT services aligned to VA strategic goals and objectives to optimize design, delivery, operation, and sourcing of IT Services.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work, however, there
    may be some physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers and books. Occasionally there may be physical activity requiring lifting boxes of records or other items such as computer equipment. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


    Major Duties:
    • Responsible for leading the development, implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of ITIL Processes across OIT.
    • Drives overall ITIL Process Management readiness planning and execution to support the delivery and continuous improvement of IT services, processes, and technology.
    • Provides oversight and coordination across OIT on ITIL processes and provides expertise and direction on IT and organizational management concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Conducts strategic planning, tactical planning, project execution, operations, administrative efficiency, and productivity in relationship to fiscal, acquisition, staffing, and communications of ITIL programmatic activities.
    • Serves as an effective change agent providing expert technical and operational program
      oversight, guidance and direction to VA and OIT senior executive leadership.
