    The incumbent performs routine, multiple, and varying tasks under the limited direction of the Labor and Employee Relations Division, Manager and at times Labor Relations Specialists. The HR Assistant provides assistance to the manager and other employees on a variety of administrative processes, computer applications and day-to-day division operations. He/She serves as focal point for administrative support in the Division.

    The position of a Human Resources Assistant involves offering support and assistance to a busy Human Resource Office and assigned Branch. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: researching regulations and policies relating to processing a variety of HR actions; working with various databases; responding to employee inquiries; performing a variety of technical and administrative support work to assist Labor Relations Specialists in the labor and employee relations function; establishing and/or maintaining tracking systems for grievances, arbitrations, Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs), disciplinary actions and other records generated; independently gathering data for the development of technical/statistical reports that are distributed at regional and national levels; establishing and maintaining case files; assisting and participating with specialists in a variety of tasks associated with representing agency management interests before third parties; serving as program coordinator in several areas. Demonstrates some independence in planning time, but works with senior staff to prioritize tasks. Contacts are primarily internal to the FAA. Established procedures/policies provide guidance for most tasks. Work is reviewed frequently to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
