    Summary

    This position is assigned to the Office Information Technology (OIT), IT Operations and Services (ITOPS), Infrastructure Operations (IO), Infrastructure Cybersecurity Management (ICSM). The incumbent serves as a Security Analyst and provides application- and facility-level information security support as part of the overall Continuous Readiness in Information Security Program (CRISP) efforts for ongoing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of major systems and facilities.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle. The work does not require any special physical effort.


    Major Duties:
    • Manages all information systems assurance and accreditation materials maintained with the VA's
      governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tool.
    • Ensures that disaster recovery and continuity of operations actions are documented and coordinated regularly as part of overall disaster recovery and incident response actions.
    • Oversees, evaluates, and/or supports the documentation, validation, and accreditation processes necessary to assure that new information Technology (IT) systems meet the organization's information security/information assurance (IS/IA) requirements.
    • Prepares/analyzes/edits standards and procedures and assists/advises the installation staff, to include
      functional area specialists, on all types of information security management and processing matters.
    • Prepares and presents reports, interprets policies and guidelines, provides advice and guidance to customers,
      provides briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues to gain approval for
      proposals of new initiatives, and represents the organization in interactions with other organizations.
