The employee manages and directs the full range of day-to-day administrative activities within the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) including: recommending new or modified programs, policies and procedures; proposing short-range and/or long-range plans and independently applying techniques and methods to accomplish the PTAB’s objectives; and promoting efficient PTAB operations to include its satellite offices located in Detroit, MI, San Jose, CA, Denver, CO and Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX. Typical duties include:
- Manages the planning, preparation, and execution of the PTAB budget. Directs the preparation of all documentation and other material necessary in preparing and supporting the PTAB budget submission for each budget year.
- Exercises the full range of supervisory responsibilities over the branch staff, assigns duties and responsibilities, and modifies assignments to meet the changing needs of the Administrative Branch.
- Manages the use of existing office space, including the maintenance, reconfiguration, and renovation of the space to ensure the efficient operation of the Business Unit.
- Develops system administration procedures, including user registration and access, reports generation, system modification or enhancement, and other similar activities.
