    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center, Information systems Division, Standards and Security Branch in Elizabeth City, NC.

    As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Information Systems Division, Standards and Security Branch, the role of this position is to serve as the Security Control Accessor performing comprehensive security assessments using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and conducting independent verification and validation of the system authorization and accreditation. In addition, the incumbent provides documentation, assessment of Coast Guard IT and aviation Platform Information Technology (PIT) governed by the cybersecurity program. 
    Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

    • Develop, review, and approve a plan to assess security controls.
    • Develop and coordinate local Information Technology technical standards, security procedures, and regulatory guidance.
    • Assess both major applications and general support system security configurations and implementation for IT and aviation systems.
    • Conduct research and analysis on system upgrades to determine feasibility, milestones, time required, and compatibility within current systems.
