The Associate Director supervises the work of the Chief, Park Planning and Special Studies Division; SES Manager, Denver Service Center; Chief, Land Resources Division; Chief, Facility Management Division; Chief, Construction Program Management Division; and programs specialist in environmental leadership and sustainability. The selectee will be responsible for the following:
1) providing advice and guidance in reaching decisions on a range of management and policy issues relating to park planning, facility management, and land resource management; 2) serving as external and congressional liaison for the NPS; 3) directing program accountability and budget formulation in the functional areas of long-range management planning, facilities management, service-wide construction program management, environmental leadership and sustainability, special resource studies, and land and design; 4) managing programs involving the maintenance of standards in regard to engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, history, archeology, forestry, and natural and cultural resources; and 5) directing operations related to administration, including human resource management and equal opportunity.
