    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The NGA OIG Audit Division conducts independent, objective audits and other reviews of NGA programs and operations and makes recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NGA policies, programs, and operations. The OIG Audit Division is seeking a junior IT Audit Specialist to assist in researching, planning, and conducting information technology-related audits and reviews. Under supervision, this individual should be able to analyze information to reach correct and logical conclusions, interview and brief officials, and exercise sound judgement. This individual must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment on audits and related projects. This individual must also have oral and written communication skills. This position is non-supervisory.

    Typical functions may include research/information gathering, data analysis, and preparing workpapers to document results. Employees carry out routine assignments under general guidance, and receive more specific instructions and direction from the supervisor when work involves new concepts. For routine work, employees determine work priorities and follow appropriate guidelines to carry out the work. Some prior experience or training is required for successful execution of duties. The supervisor reviews work in progress to ensure that instructions are being followed and again upon completion to ensure that requirements and standards have been met. Functions may also include research/information gathering, data analysis, management of equipment and/or computer data files, technical and Clerical support, and personal time management.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a term position, NTE two years in the Office of Inspector General Auditing Division. It is an entry-level position with responsibilities that include conducting office duties and some Audits in field work to support audits into criminal and administrative issues. The incumbent will provide a wide variety of support functions for the auditing and fraud analytics staff including researching and preparing reports, gathering Information from government information systems, and liaise with others external and internal to the agency.
