    Summary

    This position is in the VA's Office of Information & Technology, Development and Operations, Enterprise Program Management Office, Enterprise Program Management Division. As an IT Specialist (SysAnalysis), you will be responsible for comprehensive overseeing and/or performing the work described below under "Major Duties". The primary purpose of the position is to work independently (without supervision) within a DevOps team responsible for implementing and sustaining software applications.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-13. At the GS-11 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-13. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.

    Major Duties:

    • Plans, prepares, and executes tests of systems to evaluate results against specifications and requirements as well as analyze/report test results.
    • Software testing of information processing platforms to ensure successful nationwide implementation of new functionality.
    • Performs work to analyze, test, evaluate and approve accuracy of modifications to systems software to accomplish agency work through manual and automated testing.
    • Advises on technical approaches, interdepartmental participation, priorities, configuration management procedures, and software change.
    • Works with developers and users to determine that requirements of the system are met, and ensure that resulting system meets needs of the customer(s).
