    As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Compliance), you will conduct and assist in the supervision of compliance related activities in banks and serve as an acting compliance specialist in community banks by providing expertise on issues related to consumer protection laws and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Compliance), you will:

    • Be familiar with pertinent laws and regulations, including applicable state and national banking laws and regulations, and evaluate the control and management of risks inherent in a particular institution's consumer compliance related activities, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Fair Lending/Fair Housing Act and other laws and regulations as applicable; and assess the overall risk management of those activities in national banks/thrifts as assigned.
    • Plan, coordinate and monitor supervisory activities related to compliance, including assesses risk, develop supervisory strategies, determine the scope of supervisory activities, by preparing reports of activities, and developing responses to address risks.
    • Manage teams of assisting personnel and participate in training that addresses Community Reinvestment, Fair Lending, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti- Money Laundering, Flood, and Servicemembers Civil Relief Act issues. 
    • Conduct or participate in discussions with bank management on findings and recommendations.  Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank.
