    Responsibilities

    THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS (STANDING REGISTER) ANNOUNCEMENT WITH ESTABLISHED CUTOFF DATES. APPLICATIONS WILL BE REFERRED BASED ON RECEIPT OF APPLICATION AND ESTABLISHED CUTOFF DATES AS FOLLOWS:

    1ST CUTOFF: May 18, 2021

    2ND CUTOFF: June 03, 2021

    3RD CUTOFF: July 2, 2021

    4TH CUTOFF: August 4, 2021

    As a HR Specialist (Classification, Recruit, & Placement), GS-0201-11, you will be responsible for:

    - Troubleshoots and resolves the most difficult and complex problems associated with comprehensive recruitment and placement services for assigned organizations.

    - Provides technical advice to agency staff in resolving the most difficult and controversial recruitment and placement problems including defining issues, determining applicable precedents, laws or regulations, and identifying the most effective approach and technique to validate the correctness and propriety of the actions taken.

    - Evaluates, audits, and classifies a wide variety of positions, including complex and controversial ones. Determines proper title, schedule, series, and grades of positions. Advises management officials on the preparation and rewrite/revision of position descriptions to ensure adequacy for classification purposes.

    - Advises on employee classification appeals procedures and requirements. Explains and supports classification decisions to operating officials.

    - Use tact, diplomacy and patience when communicating and dealing with others. e.g. co-workers, managers, supervisors, and internal/external customers. When a request for information or assistance is received, a timely and accurate response is critical. Research will be conducted to ensure that the provided response is accurate, expeditiously carried out, answers the question(s) posed, and/or meets and complies with current established statutes/regulations, policy, guidelines, processes, procedures.

    As a HR Specialist (Classification, Recruit, & Placement), GS-201-12, you will be responsible for:

    - Troubleshoots and resolves the most difficult and complex problems associated with comprehensive recruitment and placement services for assigned organizations.

    - Provides technical advice to agency staff in resolving the most difficult and controversial recruitment and placement problems including defining issues, determining applicable precedents, laws or regulations, and identifying the most effective approach and technique to validate the correctness and propriety of the actions taken.

    - May serve as a Human Resources representative on inter-agency and intra-commerce discussion and working groups covering a broad range of human resources.

    - Provide guidance interpretation and assistance and determines the degree of compliance with regulations and other employment program requirements.

    - Evaluates, audits and classifies a wide variety of positions, including complex and controversial onces. Determines proper title, schedule, series, and grades of positions. Advises management officials on the preparation and rewrite/revision of position descriptions to ensure adequacy for classification purposes.

    - Advises on employee classification appeals procedures and requirements. Explains and supports classification decisions to operating officials.

    - Serves as the technical expert on implementing and administering positions management and classification programs within the Department.

    - Use tact, diplomacy and patience when communicating and dealing with others. e.g. co-workers, managers, supervisors, and internal/external customers. When a request for information or assistance is received, a timely and accurate response is critical. Research will be conducted to ensure that the provided response is accurate, expeditiously carried out, answers the question(s) posed, and/or meets and complies with current established statutes/regulations, policy, guidelines, processes, procedures.
