    This position is located at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Services (ARS), Sugarbeet and Potato Research Unit, in Fargo, ND.

    The Unit's mission is to improve the quality and profitability of sugarbeet and potato production through fundamental research on germplasm enhancement, crop protection, and postharvest physiology.

    • Planning, conducting, and reporting research that improves the profitability of the sugarbeet industry by investigating means to reduce the storage and processing losses caused by postharvest storage diseases.
    • Identifying critical problems facing the sugarbeet industry with respect to storage diseases, formulating feasible research objectives, and developing relevant, scientifically-sound hypotheses and research strategies to achieve project objectives.
    • Supporting ARS National Program (NP) 301 ? Plant Genetic Resources, Genomics, and Genetic Improvement.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
