    Responsibilities

     This Public Affairs Specialist position is located in the Social Media Branch, Media Operations Division, Public Affairs, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Developing recommendations that impact TSA’s communication and public affairs programs or policies.
    • Developing communication strategies for proactive and reactive media engagement and under the supervision of the Social Media Manager (SMM), develops content and maintains TSA's social media presence across multiple social platforms.

    • Conducting data analytics to track trends, including positive, sensitive or negative agency coverage and provide efficient and effective communication platforms to explain the complexity and range of TSA’s missions.

    • Conducting extensive research, developing plans, and contributing to the implementation of a variety of Public Affairs projects and programs; utilizing metrics to track the progress of projects and developing reports of findings to management and other TSA entities.

    • Consulting and advising executive level program managers regarding their communication needs and advising headquarters senior program managers and field Federal Security Directors (FSDs) regarding how to build stronger communication products and systems for delivering products.

    Travel Required
