This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-13. At the GS-11 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-13. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed, and no promise of promotion is implied.
- Plans, prepares, and executes tests of systems to evaluate results against specifications and requirements as well as analyze/report test results.
- Software testing of information processing platforms to ensure successful nationwide implementation of new functionality.
- Performs work to analyze, test, evaluate and approve accuracy of modifications to systems software to accomplish agency work through manual and automated testing.
- Advises on technical approaches, interdepartmental participation, priorities, configuration management procedures, and software change.
- Works with developers and users to determine that requirements of the system are met, and ensure that resulting system meets needs of the customer(s).
