    Responsibilities

    Supervisory Probationary Period: Applicants selected for this position may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period. Failure to successfully complete the supervisory probationary period will result in the employee being reassigned to a position in the agency of no lower grade and pay than the one the employee left to accept the supervisory or managerial position.

    This is a virtual position and the incumbent must be placed and report to a VA facility. Site to be determined after selection is made.

    This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) within Development, Security & Operations (DevSecOps).

    You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Policy and Planning) and as an advisor to the Business Office Program Management Officer with the responsibilities of providing analytical oversight, data management, independently analyze and solve problems including requirements, workforce and position utilization, process improvement programs guidance corrective actions and plan modifications.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle. The work does not require any special physical effort.

    Major Duties:
    • Supervises, plans, directs, and coordinates the work of a specialized group of highly technical and administrative personnel who provide technical support for the enterprise.
    • Conducts analyses and recommends resolution of complex issues affecting the specialty area.
    • Serves as a key advisor, planner strategist for the business office functions of the Enterprise Command Operations (ECO).
    • Develops both long and short-range policies and plans for the organizations.
    • Coordinates and participates in departmental policy and planning deliberations and continues significantly to the management decision-making process through teamwork.
