Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary , but the position is subject to irregular and/or rotating tours of duty. The incumbent may be required to work long hours as the work load demands.This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-09. At the GS-07 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-09. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.
- Ensures all electronic batch jobs are executed according to the Schedule of Operations, ensures job dependencies are met and runs are completed, monitors, and ensures the completion of electronic file transfers with internal and external customers
- Performs a broad range of systems analysis, coordination, problem research, problem resolution, operator and control functions
- Reviews, maintains, monitors and troubleshoots applications for all major systems center-wide
- Improves total productivity of mainframe and open systems processing, and ensures timely processing of critical applications
- Performs all phases of planning, production control, computer operations, electronic job execution and monitoring of systems enterprise wide
