    These positions are located within the Veterans Health Administration's National Telestroke Program (NTSP). The NTSP works to ensure that Veterans have access to expert stroke care by using mobile technology to rapidly link stroke specialists to VA emergency departments, urgent care centers, and intensive care units across the country. The Management and Program Analyst functions as Telestroke Technology Consultant, serving as a key technical expert and technical authority for the NTSP.

    Major duties and responsibilities include:

    • Plans, executes, operates, and maintains technical applications, systems, and NTSP infrastructure
    • Ensures interoperability, integration, and continuity of operations for hardware and software
    • Analyzes and problem-solves during high-pressure, time-sensitive problems/incidents
    • Provides technical guidance and consultation services to all NTSP stakeholders to including physicians, nurses, IT specialists, and clinical application coordinators located throughout the country and at all levels of the agency
    • Provides consultation to include: equipment procurement; ordering, deploying, installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software; troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems; opening, monitoring, and closing incident reports; providing advocate services throughout the support request lifecycle; creating, updating and deleting accounts in various NTSP support systems; and assisting in the design, management, and maintenance of communications routing systems
    • Works as part of team to Identify or build automation products that facilitates technology monitoring and needs
    • Utilizes mobile device managers to refine and optimize operations through over-the-air means, as well as configuring iOS profiles at a workstation level with mobile devices connected to a host
    • Applies a thorough understanding and experience with iOS mobile device deployment methodologies and deployment optimization to design and execute both physical and virtual deployment model
    • Participates in designing and executing device configuration in both regular deployments, regular updates, and emergency recovery of functionality of remote mobile devices
    • Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures for NTSP support functions
    • Manages and executes technology projects
    • Works directly with field office personnel to provide consulting services in both advisory and support capacities
    • Provide life cycle support for acute care mobile devices
    • Contributes to the design and development of telestroke technology systems and general NTSP process automation
    • Develops and conducts on-site and virtual deployments that involve end-stakeholder technical training
    • Investigates and identifies innovative technologies to help meet the needs of those working in the field
    • Researches health related capabilities of a wide variety of technologies to include: Internet of Things (IoT) as it applies to both mobile and stroke care; cloud services; advanced video and audio system technologies; 3D modeling/printing technology; evaluation of commercial off-the-shelf software and hardware solutions that fit into the informatics needs of stroke care, serving both acute and post-acute care modalities
    • Assists in the production of analytical reports to determine effectiveness of program processes, and in the preparation of comprehensive data and graphic packages for use in high-level presentations
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Work Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional work is required during nights, weekends and/or holidays, as this position supports 24/7 operations throughout the calendar year. Work is 100% telework as the position is a virtual position.
