    The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Financial Analyst.

    The major duties of the position are:

    • -Provide investment expertise and assistance to identify and resolve investment and asset management problems in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Perform complex mathematical operations and complex excel spreadsheet work on investment management related issues in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement performance monitoring, cash flow analysis, investment management policies and strategies, and design and implement strategies and techniques to achieve objectives in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Coordinate and monitor the efforts of investment managers to optimize their contributions to the overall investment results in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Monitor and analyze all transactions, cash flow, fees, and other data resulting from any investment manager's efforts on behalf of FRTIB and create reports as needed in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Maintain periodic comparison of indices of return for various asset classes and relate achieved and projected returns to benchmark indices in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the compliance program and its related activities to prevent and detect illegal, unethical, or improper conduct in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Participate in final determination of investment policies in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Attend and/or represent the Organization at meetings, conferences and events that relate to areas of responsibility in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Maintain contact and monitoring of prospective investment management firms to determine and evaluate the techniques and resources available to meet the Organization's future needs in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Participate in and help conduct studies related to the present state of investment management and the application of various state-of-the-art strategies, products, and techniques to further objectives in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Participate in designing and implementing innovative and far-reaching strategies and techniques to achieve critical investment objectives in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Establish and maintain effective relationships with management officials and professional/technical specialists in other areas in order to effectively plan, manage, collaborate on, and integrate investment program activities in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Conduct and coordinate investment manager selection and reviews, transition management, custodian evaluation, securities lending evaluation, risk management, performance reporting, and other similar matters in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Perform due diligence of external investment managers, including reviewing portfolio holdings and strategies, monitoring securities lending programs, monitoring custodian programs and analyzing performance and compliance with investment guidelines in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Perform periodic performance reviews of investment managers and evaluations of prospective managers in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Report progress as needed to senior management by preparing timely, periodic statistical analyses of various alternatives and their impact on objectives in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Perform program administration and management duties for senior management or other Financial Analysts with administrative backup and assistance as required in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Review and respond to written and oral inquiries from asset management plan participants relating to investments to help resolve exception processing cases in an institutional asset management client setting.
    • -Performs other duties as assigned.
