    Responsibilities

    As a Licensed Provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs, you will practice independently in the provision of psychological services, engage in professional and scientific work which relates to behavior, capacities, personality, interests, emotions and mental disorders. consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate. This position is within the Primary Care Service, and serves as a member of the primary care clinic, providing integrative care (PCMHI) for the Patient-Aligned Care Teams (PACT)

    Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders for primary care providers.
    • Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others.
    • Provides short term, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, (in person and virtual), including individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
    • Provides consultation to professional staff within VA St. Louis Healthcare System and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients.
    • Functions independently as a member of the VA St. Louis Healthcare System Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges. Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
    ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBLIITIES
    • Assists the Assistant Chief of Psychology and PC ACOS in the design, development, and implementation of clinical programs for a team of treatment providers.
    • Adheres to operational policies and procedures established by the Chief of Psychology and ACOS PCS.
    • Assist the Assistant Chief of Psychology and ACOS PCS in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program.
    • Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services.
    • Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients, and adherence to session length and duration standards.
    • Complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes).
    • Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Chief of Psychology, ACOS PCS (or designee) and facility Director.
    • Attends regular Psychology Service staff meetings, Medical Staff meetings, and complies with Psychology Service peer review procedures.
    Completes PCMHI competency training and maintains competency throughout duration of employment.

    Duty Station: Shiloh Clinic CBOC, Belleville, IL, however if other vacancies should become available the duty station may be located at one or multiple associated VAMC locations.
    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800-1630
