    1. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Chief of the APO and the Wing Commander, this position directs, coordinates, and oversees work through APO Integration staff and supervisors. Responsible for decisions, management, oversight and quality control of personnel matters, including assignment/promotion recommendations, performance ratings, awards and other recognition, mentoring, contractor statements of work and acquisition plans and decisions. (25%)

    2. In rare instances may act as the Contractor Officer Representative (COR) overseeing contractors working within Wing SAP facilities. Reviews developmental needs of staff supervisors and makes decisions on non-routine, costly or controversial training needs or requests for APO employees. Discharges security responsibility by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for staff with access to classified or sensitive material. Recognizes and takes appropriate action to correct situations posing a threat to health or safety of subordinates. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Approves and validates necessity of and related expenditures for official government travel. Identifies subordinate developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance. Develops, modifies and interprets performance standards and relays expectations to subordinates by providing regular feedback on job performance. Holds subordinates responsible for unsatisfactory completion of work assignments and appraises performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating technique. Hears and resolves subordinate complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Initiates actions to correct subpar performance or conduct. Implements disciplinary measures in situations where warranted and prepares documentation to support actions taken. Monitors the quarterly and annual award recognition program for the APO. (25%)

    3. Serves as Deputy Chief of the Wing Advanced Programs Office. Responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing policies on the near-term operational and emerging classified capabilities for the Wing. Incumbent works under the direction of the Chief of Wing Advanced Programs and the Wing Commander. Position supports the commander in operational planning and analysis in order to provide optimal recommendations for the employment of Air National Guard capabilities. This position will promote team building, implement quality improvements, or respond to concerns within the APO office and address concerns with other agencies. This position must provide the organization with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, guidelines, and overall direction and vision to staff on a wide range of operational capability requirements and administrative issues. Position evaluates requirements for additional resources and balances organization needs with overall mission requirements and resource interests. This individual will be responsible for identifying the need for change in organization priorities and making recommendations to the Chief of Wing APO for overall APO improvement. Deputy Chief will attend staff meetings and lead frequent intra-organizational sessions to share information and direct staff actions. (25%)

    4. Under the guidance of the Wing APO Chief, manages and directs all activities of the APO, ensuring adequate oversight for information, personnel, physical and automated information systems, and functional work areas, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance while meeting supported unit requirements. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational, wing, Air National Guard and National Objectives. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies National, DoD, Director of Central Intelligence Division (DCID), USAF and Air National Guard policies classifying and protecting Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information(SCI). Advises Wing APO Chief and Wing leadership of significant issues related to weapons system or platform tasking which may be impeded by lack of resources. Establishes and maintains a metric analysis system to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical conversion milestone points. Accepts, amends or rejects work presented by subordinates. Assists and oversees self-inspections performed by subordinates on respective areas of responsibility and approves corrective action measures where needed. Periodically assesses and revises policies and procedures as needed to identify ways to improve quality, timeliness and efficiency of work. (25%)
