As the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, the incumbent will perform the following duties and other assigned duties:
- Serves as a technical expert in safety and occupational health, providing technical information and support for the planning, implementation, administration, and audit/evaluation of the Smithsonian's safety and health program.
- Participates in the development, implementation and management of Smithsonian-wide training programs using various delivery systems including web-based training.
- Serves as safety liaison for assigned museums/research centers/leased or owned facilities/programs, providing technical advice, support, and assistance to Safety Coordinators at these locations.
- Prepares reports from the automated safety and health data base to track trends, conduct analyses, and determine needed improvements to the safety and health program.
