    This is a NON-BARGAINING position.
    This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).

    This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of General Counsel in Washington, DC. The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Deputy General Counsel, serves as Attorney on the Appropriations, Legislation and Regulations team.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide legal advice, counsel, guidance, interpretation, opinions, and assistance on a wide range of legal issues relating to the obligation and expenditure of appropriated funds; reprogramming and transfer of funds; financial transactions.
    • Conduct legal research and provide oral and written legal advice, in regard to the laws, regulations, and other precedents bearing on the legal issues involving or impacting SBA's fiscal responsibilities.
    • Examine and analyze proposed and enacted legislation to determine the manner in which they may affect the interests and operations of the Agency or the small business community.
    • Participate in the budget process, including by reviewing agency annual budget request and drafting and reviewing proposed appropriation bill language.
