    This position is located within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Office of Research (OR), in Laurel, Maryland.

    The Office of Research (OR) conducts applied research in support of decision-making related to each of CVM's core functions.

    • Direct the Veterinary Laboratory Emergency Network (Vet-LIRN), coordinating facilities, equipment, and professional expertise of CVM with those of U.S. veterinary diagnostic laboratories with those of the federal government.
    • Serve as the Center?s expert resource for investigating animal food and drug contamination identified through adverse effects reported to CVM and oversees CVM?s animal pathogen antimicrobial resistance monitoring program.
    • Define the specific objectives for and plan, organize, and conduct the Vet-LIRN program, ensuring program execution and the interpretation and reporting of data.
