Summary

You will serve as a in the IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) with 4TH MARINE CORPS.

This announcement uses the Modified Cyber Workforce direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the cyber workforce.

Responsibilities
- You will review completed work projects and provide technical assistance, guidance and advice as needed.
- You will collaborate with information technology (IT) customers to assess their needs and provide quality products and services.
- You will work with customers assessing the individual needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve their problems.
- You will install operating systems of cybersecurity in the Areas of Operations.
- - You will research and track customer software inquiries.
- You will assist command in reporting loss, or theft of information systems of containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- You will diagnose hardware/software interoperability problems.
- You will perform a risk analysis of information systems to determine vulnerability countermeasures.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain an IAT Level II as required in the DOD 8570.1-within 6 months of appointment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is categorized as essential personnel.
- This position requires obtaining and maintaining Information Assurance Training (IAT). Upon request the employee shall provide documentation supporting the information assurance certificate status.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: reviewing completed work projects and providing technical assistance, guidance and advice as needed.

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Implementing and promoting partnerships towards network-centric Cyber goals and objectives.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Take action to design, develop, implement, monitor and maintain system analysis activities to support customer needs.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing problematic provisions or guidance governing IT systems and provide assistance and advisory services towards a resolution.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Installing and maintaining operating systems and authorized software applications on end user computing devices; AND performing configuration, triage, troubleshooting, and diagnostic services on IT-related hardware and software.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on meeting at least one of these listed educational accomplishments OR an equivalent combination of experience and education:
- Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks OR
- Successfully completed 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks OR
- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
