    Responsibilities

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The NGA OIG Audit Division conducts independent, objective audits and other reviews of NGA programs and operations and makes recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NGA policies, programs, and operations. The OIG Audit Division is seeking an IT Audit Specialist to research, plan, and conduct performance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards with minimal supervision. This individual may assist in overseeing contractors performing the information technology aspects of the annual financial statement audit (Federal Information Systems Controls Audit Manual - FISCAM) and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) of 2014 evaluations. This individual should have performance audit and information technology auditing experience. Experience in performing or overseeing the information technology aspects of Federal government OIG FISMA evaluations is desirable. This individual shall have at least 5 years of Federal government performance auditing experience. This individual will have an opportunity to participate in all aspects of the audit cycle from development of an annual audit plan through follow-up on recommendations. This individual must have a strong ethical commitment to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of NGA programs; have knowledge of the theory, concepts, practices, and techniques of government auditing; be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment; have strong oral and written communication skills; and be able to work on multiple tasks with short deadlines while prioritizing as necessary to meet critical needs.
