To be
eligible, applicants must meet one of the following requirements;
- Completed all requirements for an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two (2) years. Current students who will complete their degree requirements by June 30, 2021 will be considered. or
- Individuals who, due to military service obligation, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period described above shall have a full 2-year period of eligibility upon release or discharge from active duty. This eligibility period cannot extend more than 6 years from the date on which the requirements for the academic course of study were met.
Qualifications for the GS-7
Applicants must meet the following specialized experience and/or education requirements listed below:
One or more full-time years of specialized work experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to at least the next lower level in the Federal Service (GS-05). Examples of qualifying experience include:
- Collecting and preparing market quotations for publication, radio, or news services; or marketing or commercial production; or college teaching, extension, or research work in the field of production or marketing; or inspecting, grading, sampling of a commodity for official or trade recognized certification or investigating or compliance work on regulatory statutes.
OR
EDUCATION GS-07: One full year of graduate level study, or a master's or higher degree, e.g., Ph.D., in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Such fields include Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Journalism, Agriculture Production, Agronomy, Crop Science, Poultry Science, Agricultural Biology, Meat Science or Dairy Science.

OR
Superior Academic Achievement: Bachelor's degree in a field providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Such fields include Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Journalism, Agriculture Production, Crop Science, Poultry Science, Agricultural Biology, Meat Science or Dairy Science
AND Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.). S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.

1.Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2.Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

Combination: You may qualify for this position if you have a percentage of the specialized experience described above and a percentage of the graduate education described above such that when the two percentages are added together, they total at least 100 percent. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
