Summary

This position is located in Smithsonian Libraries and Archives (SLA). The purpose of this position is to work with staff throughout the Libraries system to provided and coordinate courier and delivery services among the branch.

Responsibilities
- Completes the daily inspection of the vehicles prior to operation and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
- Sorts delivery materials to be delivered according to the duty locations.
- Maintains manifest of materials transported.
- Serves as the vehicle coordinator for the unit to interact with the Smithsonian's Fleet Management.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the physical ability to perform moderately heavy work including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects; climb ladders and stairs; and stand and walk for extended periods.

2. Knowledge of technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
3. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.(other than blueprints).
4. Knowledge of Materials, dexterity and safety.
