    This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

    It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

    Responsibilities

    • Incumbent ensures DOD and DISA security policies, procedures, and practices are adhered to when providing solutions to all projects.
    • Incumbent researches applicability of new technological developments in the field to solve continuing problems or meet future needs of the Defense Information Infrastructure, and keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies.
    • Provides technical guidance to technical specialists and engineers in areas such as security engineering lifecycle, network communication, and systems development and documentation
    • Performs staff assignments that include providing advice to decision-makers in setting program goals and establishing priorities to support the development of policy and procedures for implementation of higher level guidance
