    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will serve as the Regional Training Manager performing work that oversees all regional training and education requirements to meet agency and regional goals and objectives. Typical assignments include

    • Planning, developing, monitoring, evaluating, and managing all regional training and education requirements to include functional training at the regional, state, tribal, and local level, and the Region IX employee development program.
    • Planning, initiating, and coordinating innovative programs with secondary and post-secondary leaders to meet Regional or national needs for constantly changing education requirements.
    • Conducting research and needs assessments to identify and develop courses, to meet the changes of policy guidance, legislation, or agency emphasis.
    • Participating in national level meetings and curriculum advisory committees to develop guidance, guidelines, and policies for the national training programs.
