    Summary

    The purpose of this position is to plan and conduct multiple research studies and to support statistical research needs of the Division/Laboratory/Office (DLO), NIOSH. The function of the position is to serve as a researcher and advisor to the DLO, and to contribute to the development, application and communication of research statistical methods as an investigator and a collaborator on research studies on the causes of work-related illness and injury.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with multiple research studies.
    • Provide data analysis support.
    • Provide data evaluation support.
    • Engage in data presentation and dissemination.
    • Provide technical advice and assistance.
    • Prepare and supervise the preparation of reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts and other documents of high scientific quality.
    • Develop analytical plans incorporating appropriate statistical methods and techniques, execute the analysis of data, and interpret results.
    • Plan and carry out quality control programs and select appropriate statistical and demographic methods to be used in quality control analysis.
    • Develop and formulate plans to design, implement, operate, maintain and otherwise manage data systems where data are collected, processed and archived over long periods of time in order to support analytical requirements and other assignments.
    • Engage in data presentation and dissemination.
    • Provide technical leadership, consultation, and advice on demographic and statistical analysis and methods, and techniques of assigned specialty.
    • Develop the analytical plan incorporating appropriate statistical methods and techniques, execute the analysis of data, and interpret results.
    • Ensure the statistical validity of study activities by solving problems occurring in the data collection process.
    • Provide technical leadership, consultation, and advice on statistical analysis and methods, and techniques of assigned studies.
    • Develop plans to accomplish survey/data systems objectives.
    • Ensure the statistical validity of survey/data systems activities by solving problems occurring in the data collection process.
    • Perform survey analysis and evaluation.
    • Provide technical leadership, consultation, and advice on survey/data systems methods and techniques.

    Occasional travel - Domestic travel up to 5%
