This position is assigned to the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, Office of International Health and Biodefense (OES/IHB). OES/IHB is at the forefront of the State Department's foreign policy response to the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases threats, such as Ebola outbreaks in the DRC and Guinea and polio in multiple countries. Staff in the office engage foreign governments, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society to build global health security capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious diseases. The office leads work to advance U.S. health priorities strategically through multilateral fora – including the World Health Organization, the United Nations, the G7, and the G20 – regional bodies, and bilaterally. The office collaborates with technical U.S. agencies and U.S. missions overseas on critical elements of international health cooperation – including to raise resources to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a Student Trainee (Program Analysis) GS-07, you will:
- Develop oral and written reports for Bureau Management.
- Participate in training personnel regarding guidelines and systems.
- Support higher graded analysts in conducting assigned segments or phases of projects.
- Maintain liaison with staff members of the appropriate Department or external organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This Year-Round position requires at least 20 hours per week between the hours of 8:15a.m. and 5:00p.m. Eastern Time (ET), Monday-Friday.
