Supervisory Contract Specialist PD# 44285-0
The selected employee will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist responsible for executing contracting requirements for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and its customers for the Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC). Major duties consist of Supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-11 through GS-13 level. Distributing workload within the team and ensuring work assignments of employees in the team are carried out. Preparing individual development plans and conduct performance evaluations for subordinate staff. The Supervisory Contract Specialist will plan, develop and establish contractual strategy for acquisitions, support major projects or programs of critical importance to VA and other Government agencies; this includes: developing acquisition strategies, use of a wide variety of acquisition methods, determining pre-negotiation positions, determining the type of contracts and negotiation authorities, and preparing justifications. Selected employee will serve as principal contracting advisor to management for all contracting matters. Will establish contracts and agreements to obtain medical services, pharmaceuticals and supplies, hitech equipment and services and to support strategic program initiatives for the SAC and VA.
