Summary
Responsibilities
As a Fish Biologist within the Great Lakes Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Work closely with Deepwater Branch Chief to formulate studies to address critical scientific issues in an effective manner including advising the program Chief on all matters related to program development and long range planning; project development, management, and completion.
- Plan and manage budgets, arranges logistical details with collaborating personnel, operates motor vehicles as needed for such collaborations. Such collaborations require extensive consultation and cooperation to achieve project goals in an efficient and effective manner.
- Oversee highly complex studies, data gathering and interagency efforts in the areas of water quality and biological resources assessment, often including collaborations with a wide variety of other Federal, State, and local interests.
- Write and publishes technical reports and scientific journal articles to disseminate the results of scientific studies. Makes presentations at technical and scientific meetings of local, regional, national and international groups and societies

25% or less - You may be expected to travel on average 5 nights per month for this position.
