WHAT IS THE Small Business/Self-Employed Division (SB/SE) DIVISION? Approximately 57 million taxpayers, 41 million self-employed persons, 9 million small businesses with assets of less than $10 million and 7 million filers of employment, excise, estate and gift returns fall under the SB/SE category. As an IRS representative serving this group, you'll educate and inform these citizens of their tax obligations, develop educational products and services and help them understand and comply with applicable laws. Through collection, compliance services campus operations, examination, specialty taxes or communications, liaison and disclosure, you'll help to address the underreporting, underpayment and non-filing tax gaps.
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Your experience must demonstrate your technical expertise to plan and conduct formal classroom training on basic or advanced areas of tax law, procedures, policies, techniques, or other specialized fields unique to your position/occupation. The cadre position covered by this announcement is identified below:
BASIC REQUIREMENT : You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the
next lower level within the payband or GS grade in the normal line of progression in the Federal service. To be qualifying for this position your experience should be sufficient to demonstrate: Knowledge of management techniques, methods, theories, principles, and labor relations concepts, to assure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, and space for the accomplishment of all program objectives with combined technical and administrative oversight; Knowledge and understanding of regulations, other official guidance and principles, including the latest procedures and techniques sufficient to oversee the planning, development and implementation of the technical aspects of programs specific to the position being filled; Knowledge of basic budget management principles and practices (i.e. ability to maintain and manage financial resources); and Knowledge of communicative techniques to effectively and diplomatically interact with internal and external customers.
-Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.
