The DJ-3 pay band encompasses General Schedule (GS) grades 11 and 12.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Minimum Qualifications: Specialized experience: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DJ-2 pay band (GS-09 grade level equivalent) in the Federal service which includes: 1) researching, planning, implementing and evaluating social media strategies and tactics for various emerging media platforms; 2) managing multiple social media accounts for an organization; 3) leveraging social media platforms to conduct livestream events for an organization; 4) managing and developing an organization's public website; 5) delivering training related to social media and website development; and 6) creating communication products, including graphics, video packages and photography, for social media campaigns and web formats.

Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.); OR a combination of education and specialized experience -- a combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Only graduate education in excess of 2 years may be used to qualify applicants for this position based on a combination of experience and education. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project and this pay band includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to the GS-11/12. In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume.
