Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and administer the updating of rules and signatures (e.g., intrusion detection/protection systems, antivirus, and content blacklists) for specialized cyber defense applications.
- Perform system administration on specialized cyber defense applications and systems (e.g., antivirus, audit and remediation) or Virtual Private Network(VPN) devices, to include installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
- Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense hardware.
- Responsible for the cybersecurity of a program, organization, system, or enclave.
- Manage the monitoring of information security data sources to maintain organizational situational awareness.
- Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience, as defined below.

Specialized Experience:
Qualifying experience for GS-14 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-13 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

For this position, specialized experience is experience (1) Ensuring that supply chain, system, network, performance, and cybersecurity requirements are included in contract language and delivered; (2) Developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving processes and procedures to monitor the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the program segment and/or organization; and (3) Participating in the acquisition process as necessary.

3. 4. Problem Solving-Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

- DRUG TESTING: This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Selectee must submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and random testing thereafter. Final appointment and continued employment is conditional on negative results for illegal drug use.
- CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE REPORT: If selected, you will be required to submit Form OGE-450 within 30 days of your initial appointment date, and annually thereafter.
