The incumbent, under the direction of the Supervisory Examination Specialist and senior staff, participates in the planning and conducting of D & I examinations. Progressively is assigned greater responsibilities with experience and tenure.
Under the guidance of a Senior Examination Specialist, performs select examination activities, adapting standard procedures and techniques to each GSE's individual circumstance as required.
Analyzes all elements which affect compliance with D & I programs. Secures necessary information from standard references and source materials and determines the need for additional information.
Follows supervisory guidance such as the OMWI examination manual, advisory bulletins, examination guidelines and policy statements to draft initial examination scope and reports according to prescribed FHFA regulatory and supervisory policy and program guidelines and standards.
Validates examination findings, draws conclusions, and drafts findings memoranda.
Prepares required schedules, worksheets, and narrative report materials that summarize the important characteristics of the examined data of the GSEs. Evaluates findings and drafts conclusions about the GSE's degree of compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Drafts written reports including evaluative commentaries appropriate to the operations being examined. Submits recommendations to a Senior Examination Specialist.
Keeps abreast of significant issues, events, trends and emerging risks that may impact the continued operations of the GSEs in their D & I mission.
Develops knowledge of issues, trends, and advances in D & I workforce, contracting and procurement, and financial management, risk management and risk-based examinations of large, complex financial institutions.
