    EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

    In this position, you will be responsible for the strategic requirements and projects that support Human Resources processing automated systems and identifying systemic issues to implement corrective actions in a fast-paced operation, while managing a large staff. Typical assignments include:

    • Supervising a team of employees engaged in the processing of federal personnel actions into an automated system including PeopleSoft, EmpowHR.
    • Managing the workload and assignments for team members.
    • Identifying issues, initiatives, and coordinating research, and preparing and reviewing position papers, memorandum, and other materials.
    • Conducting continuing evaluations of the effectiveness and adequacy of programs, operations, work methods, and techniques.
    • Identifying systemic issues and implementing corrective action to ensure the timely and accurate processing of actions and proper maintenance of personnel records.

    25% or less - This position may require non-emergency travel (20%)
